DAMMIT with irish breakfastcinnamonrooibos peach with accents of orange peels

Bones is my favorite character from Star Trek so I had to do a tea for him!  It’s kinda bitter and super peachy and cinnamony, I found it really fun to drink. :)  I also haven’t tried it with bourbon yet, lol.  Maybe sometime!

Here are my other teas including my Tea Wolf blends!

Snark Nerdy to Me / Wild Child
(Stiles/Erica)
Artichoke Green, Rhubarb Green, Hibiscus /
Mango Green, Pomegranate Green, Apricot
By Daunt

This mixture is a gorgeous light reddish chestnut color. The flavors mix well together for the most part - Stiles is more full-bodied while Erica is fruity and light (with just a touch of an edge). The two of them together smell so amazing! That is actually what inspired trying this mixture in the first place!

For a better description of each tea, see my reviews for Snark Nerdy to Me and Wild Child!

Recommended brew:

- Let boiling water sit for at least 5 minutes - these leaves are easy to burn
- Brew tea for 2-4 minutes, or to taste (Stiles can go a little woody if you let him steep too long, so be careful) *snicker* But seriously, be careful.

Brewed:

  • Good! Doesn’t really need sweetener
  • Barely a touch of sugar brings out Erica
  • Can still taste Stiles in the background, but hot is Erica’s show
  • Rather mild flavor

Iced:

  • Needs sugar - I used about 1tsp white sugar per cup
  • Very good when very cold
  • Good mix of both flavors, though Stiles is slightly stronger
  • Flavor stronger cold than when hot

Latte:

  • Be careful not to use too much milk, very easy to overpower the flavor of the tea
  • Very sweet, doesn’t need much sweetener - recommended 1/2tsp white sugar/cup
  • Mild flavor of tea doesn’t play too well with a hot latte, but…

Iced latte:

  • YES
  • Can definitely taste Stiles, though Erica gives a slight fruitiness
  • Definitely a different flavor than just Stiles iced latte, but the difference is subtle (albeit very tasty)

These wonderful blends were made by Daunt and can be purchased over at Adagio Teas

Sour Wolf
(Derek)
Rooibos Vanilla, Rooibos Cinnamon Apple, Cinnamon - Accents Cinnamon, Apple pieces, Cinnamon (again)
by Daunt

The smell out of the bag is a bit overpowering, very spicy - but it mellows out as it steeps. When brewed, this tea is the most gorgeous redish chestnut color. I tried so hard to get a picture that did it justice but I couldn’t make it work (sorry Tim Gunn). But holy god is it gorgeous.

Recommended brew:

- Rooibos, from my understanding, can handle lava hot water temperatures (ok maybe not that hot, but you don’t need to let your water rest for long on this one)
- Steep for about 5 minutes - there is some black tea in this so if you steep too long it can start to go bitter.

Brewed:

  • Smell is much less intense than from out of the bag
  • Can definitely taste the cinnamon
  • I would actually suggest against adding too much sugar as you can easily overpower the spiciness, but obviously that’s your choice!

Iced:

  • Really delicious
  • Definitely still spicy, which is nice in an iced tea
  • I would recommend adding sugar to it iced as it rounds out the flavor and lessens the spiciness but for some reason didn’t overpower it like it does when served hot…?

Latte:

  • The smell is amazing - it’s creamy and spicy and sweet and unf
  • Don’t add too much sugar! Just a little is awesome
  • The apple flavor really came out in the latte and it really grew on me

Iced latte:

  • Definitely worth trying, all the good from the hot latte but iced
  • No major flavor differences - perhaps the apple was a bit less prominent but it was still really tasty

He’s good no matter how you take him. Might not seem like your cuppa at first, but he definitely grows on you.

Snark Nerdy to Me
(Stiles)
Artichoke Green, Rhubarb Green, Hibiscus
by Daunt

This blend has the most fascinating smell and flavor, and I’m not just saying that. I can’t get enough of it! When brewed the tea has a golden amber color and the scent is… gosh, it just smells full. And delicious. The flavor overall is very creamy and refreshing.

Recommended brew:

- Let boiling water sit for at least 5 minutes - these leaves are easy to burn
- Brew tea for 2-4 minutes, or to taste (Stiles can go a little woody if you let him steep too long, so be careful) *snicker* But seriously, there is a fine line between a good strong green and a disgusting cuppa with this blend.

Brewed:

  • Can still taste the roundness of flavor characteristic of this blend
  • Personally, I don’t quite like this brew hot - it maintains a refreshing edge and my brain couldn’t quite balance the hot/refreshing dichotomy.

Iced:

  • Creamy, round flavor
  • Obviously a green tea but definitely not grassy (unless you over-steep)
  • Really cool and refreshing finish
  • I added 1/2 tsp of regular sugar /cup and it adds a really nice sweetness (it could handle more sweetness if you’re so inclined!!)
  • Very yummy!! ♥

Latte:

  • Naturally creamy flavor lends itself to a fantastic latte
  • Milk adds a sufficient sweetness, but it would still taste good with added sugar (it’s easy to make the hot latte too sweet, though, so don’t be overzealous with the sugar spoon until you’ve tasted it)
  • Really curious how this would taste with a melon-flavored syrup *w*

Iced latte:

  • YES
  • YES
  • By the way, YES
  • This can handle more sugar than the hot latte, so it’s a good fix for if you over-sweeten your hot latte
  • Oh, and FREAKING YES ♥

Stiles is best enjoyed cold, like the Abominable Snowman that he is.

Wild Child
(Erica)
Mango Green, Pomegranate Green, Apricot
by Daunt

This tea smells so fruity and delicious out of the bag - not an overly sweet fruity, but sweet with a bit of a kick. ♥ I would wear the scent as a perfume if I could. When brewed this tea is a light amber color and it doesn’t smell quite as sweet.

Recommended brew:

- Let boiling water sit for at least 5 minutes - these leaves are easy to burn
- Steep for about 3 minutes. Overbrewing leads to a bit of a sourness. Unfortunately when brewing this cup for my review I let it steep too much because I had to let out the dog. D:

Brewed:

  • The flavor is already a bit sweet, so it doesn’t need much sugar - I put in just a touch and it was lovely!
  • Flavor is really mild when brewed hot. It’s pleasant but not my favorite way to drink this tea

Iced:

  • Slightly sweet, slightly bitter (though that’s probably because I brewed it a bit too long)
  • Small amount of sugar goes really nicely, though it can handle a decent amount if you are in love with sugar (and who isn’t, really?)
  • Outrageously refreshing. This will be my go-to iced tea in the spring.

Latte:

  • Don’t.
  • The flavor is too flowery and the milk doesn’t play well
  • Oh my god sugar does not help

Iced latte:

  • NO
  • JuST
  • DOn’t
  • oMG

Don’t let this girl anywhere near milk or cream. I mean, go ahead and try, but I certainly wouldn’t suggest it.

My Adagio package arrived today!! Eee!! I’m super excited to try these over the next few weeks (and will post reviews when I have), but out of the box I can tell you they all smell really great. Especially Snark Nerdy to Me and Wild Child *A* I just want to mix the two of them together and roll around in it.

That is fantastic!  Let me know what you think of them?  And if you blend Stiles & Erica’s tea. I wanna hear how it tastes!
